In the next few weeks, the Local Planning Authority at Birmingham City Council will reopen a public consultation on the outline planning application for Druids Heath.
To find out how to get involved, watch our explainer animation or continue reading.
You may be aware that a legal challenge was made to the outline planning application, after it was originally approved in October 2025. We therefore agreed to cancel the approval and return to Planning Committee later this year, for a fresh decision to be made.
Before this happens, you will be invited to share your thoughts as part of the public consultation. All comments we received through the original consultation are still valid, but you can update or add to them if you want to.
Local households will receive information in the post, explaining how and when you can take part. Display notices will also be visible around the estate.
We understand that the planning process can feel complex. To help you get involved, we’re working with Planning Aid England and Loconomy. They are going to provide free events and drop-in sessions during the consultation period. They are on hand to help people learn more about the plans and support anyone who would like to submit comments.
In the next few weeks, we will share ways to access support from Planning Aid and Loconomy on our project website, druidsheathtogether.co.uk.
Our commitment to regeneration remains the same. This is another opportunity to make sure local people are helping to shape the future of Druids Heath.
